Fabrizio Barbera | Safari Guide

EN | Avid traveler and safari guide since 2012. Passionate about nature ever since childhood hikes in the Alps with his parents, he set off at a very young age in search of adventure and found a second home on the African continent. He has worked as a safari guide in Southern Africa and as a ranger in the remote Skeleton Coast of Namibia.
He then embarked on a four-month overland expedition that led him deep into Sub-Saharan Africa. There, he settled and worked as a lodge manager near the Virunga Mountains, home to the mountain gorillas.
The call of Southern Africa recently brought him back to Namibia, where he now lives and continues to share his deep love for this continent with enthusiastic travelers from all over the world.
In his free time, he enjoys exploring scientific topics, discovering new destinations—or simply returning to the wild with a tent and a campfire, under the African night sky that never ceases to remind him, with wonder, just how lucky we are to still witness so much beauty.

IT | Avido viaggiatore e Guida Safari dal 2012. Appassionato di natura fin dalle escursioni d’infanzia sulle alpi in compagnia dei suoi genitori, parte da giovanissimo alla ricerca di avventura e trova nel continente africano una seconda casa. Lavora come guida safari in Africa Australe e come ranger nella remota Skeleton Coast in Namibia. Parte poi per una spedizione via terra della durata di quattro mesi che lo porta nell’Africa Nera. Qui si stabilisce e lavora come gestore di un lodge nei pressi dei Monti Virunga, casa dei gorilla di montagna. Il richiamo dell’Africa del Sud lo ha riportato di recente in Namibia, dove tuttora vive e continua con entusiasmo a condividere il suo grande amore per questo continente con i tanti viaggiatori. Nel proprio tempo libero ama approfondire tematiche scientifiche e scoprire nuove destinazioni o anche solo tornare in mezzo alla natura, in compagnia di una tenda e di un faló, sotto al cielo notturno africano che gli ricorda con meraviglia quanto fortunati siamo a poter ancora godere di tanta bellezza.
